Staying with lovely friends in the Tây Hồ (West Lake) district: cost – FREE!
Squinting on the balcony: cost – frown lines
Start the day with a 15 minute walk to Avos and Mango coffee shop and I understand why everyone rides a motorbike around – I become 90% sweat, the other 10% is hunger.
I ordered a mango coffee (fun!) and a croissant with lots of cheeses and veg and omelette in. I am excited for my croissant here for past colonial reasons…

Walked 5 minutes to the Temple of Literature, realised I don’t have the cash to pay and spend a lot of frustrating hours going to different ATMs and trying to get through to my bank because I can’t get cash out.
Have to call it a day due to lack of cash! It’s incredibly hot, I have a humidity headache, I just want a juice, so I get a Grab back to the flat in a strong grump.
