Team America…

International flight arrives 6:40am. Use kiosk to fill out arrival information. I’ve already applied for an ESTA online.
$14 USD$14 USD
Was given a landing card to fill out on the plane, but it’s redundant. Passport control line takes ages.

Meet my friend Makenzie, she’s flown domestic.

BART train ticket machine is a challenge, you have to push plus and minus amounts to select the fare you want to pay. Luckily there’s a friendly staff member around to help.
BART train to 16th St Mission.
$9.60$9.60 one way.

Arrive to the station and decide to walk to our accommodation and look around on the way, rather than get a bus or an Uber.

Check in isn’t till later, so we store our bags and pop out to find breakfast.

California bagel and some form of cappuccino.
$10.71 USD$10.71 USD

We start walking and quickly learn that San Francisco isn’t flat. The climb up to the top of Lombard Street is quite steep.

We make a wrong turn into a dog park where I catch my first sight of the Golden Gate Bridge.

We make it. Presenting the view from the top of the crookedest street.

The view from the bottom.

Unfortunately the street’s gardens aren’t in flower at this time of year.

Next stop the sea lions at pier 39.

California sea lions are a vocal bunch and keep the crowds entertained by jumping on top of each other and barking loudly.

Carry on along the coast, navigating the scams and bracelet sellers.

Buy some San Francisco postcards, printed in South Korea!
$2 USD$2 USD for 5.

Keep roaming and taking in the America.

Decide to take the famous cable car, as it’s looking like it might rain.
$7 USD$7 USD each.
You buy your tickets from a little kiosk. The lady hands us three tickets by mistake, but we’re too honest.

I hang off the side and revel in their attitude to safety. Then spot a sign that says “no leaning out”, but the driver didn’t care.

Ride the cable car as far as we want and get off near Chinatown to find something to eat.

Wonton noodle soup.
$5.75 USD$5.75 USD
And a pork bun.
$1 USD$1 USD
Cash only. No sales tax added.

Consider visiting Coit Tower but decide to head back and check in to our hotel.
$146.75 USD$146.75 USD per night.

Rest up and head out later for dinner.

Thai food and seafood in one.

Share some dumplings and a curry.
$40.15 USD$40.15 USD total.
Plus tax and tip.
$3.85 USD$3.85 USD

Last stop’s a small shop for some beers and popcorn on the way home.
$16.36 USD$16.36 USD

Total spent:  $139.62$139.62
