Hit the ground walking…
Land at 4am. Walk straight out, there’s just a door.
First bus is at 6:10am, so set an alarm and sleep tucked behind an ATM in the foyer.
Local bus to Fira town.

Hostel is near the bus stop. Check in isn’t until 2pm, but I can store my bags and take a shower.

Head out to walk around, bump into two girls from the hostel walking to Oia. Join them.

Turns out it’s a long walk.
One girl heads back on the bus from Oia.
Ice cream and chips to keep us going before lunch.

Lunch at a restaurant next to the ocean.
A glass of wine each, some olives, a Greek salad, and the grilled muscles.

Slip over trying to fish a plastic bag out of the ocean. So dive in to grab another.
Walk back up the hill to the bus stop. Clothes dry out fast.
More water, 1.5 litre.

Take a swim in the hostel pool, then shower.
Can of beer and a 500ml water from the hostel vending machine.

Take photos on the way and walk to the coast.
Scope out a spot for viewing the sunset, it’s filling up fast. We sit on the steps to claim some space.
Chat with a guy filming for his blog, we don’t make the cut.
Bus back to Fira.
