Check out and end of breakfast are both 11am. Hostel has bag storage.

Opt for the easy option, the buffet breakfast.

Couchsurfer from yesterday WhatsApps to say he would like my tent if I am still giving it away. I ask if I can do my laundry at his apartment as he lives just around the corner from the hostel. Laundry at the hostel is 100 CZK100 CZK to wash and 100 CZK100 CZK to dry!

Trade tent for laundry then head out together for a beer.

We sit outside at a restaurant near the river.
48 CZK48 CZK for a big stein.

I join a CouchSurfing hangout for lunch and we head back to check on my laundry. It’s still wet so arrange to collect it later.

Just make the next tram and buy a 24-hour transport ticket on board.

You need a “Contactless” card to buy your tickets this way. Choose a 30min, 90min, or 24hr ticket. You can ride the Metro, Trams, and buses with this ticket.

I arrive first at the pizza place, but everyone arrives soon after.

We walk a short distance to a park with a view and beer garden.
40 CZK40 CZKfor a beer there.

A security guard tells us off for having brought outside food here. He asks if any one of us is Czech, but we all speak English. He unfolds a sign in English and we apologise.

After lunch we decide to visit the Jewish cemetery, it’s close by.

The weather is turning and about to unload a heavy downpour. We consider a rain break in a coffee shop, but carry on.

The cemetery costs money for a tour and entry, so we just walk around it and peak through a window in a door.

A bit further we find a spot to see more tombstones.

Now it really starts raining, so we shelter a little bit. It’s not cold though.

I want to try the traditional sweet bread that we can smell. We duck inside and shortly after the queue is out the door. Perfect timing.

I buy a Trdelník with caramel.

It’s not bad, but quite sweet.

The girls want to go paddle boarding. There’s lightning, the river is dirty, it costs a bit, and I’ve done it before, so decide to go to Zizkov Tower instead. One of the guys, Bin, wants to come with me, the other decides to leave.

We head to the Metro station, Google Maps isn’t too precise, but we ask a lady for directions. She is very polite and wishes us a nice time in Prague.

At the station there is a long line for the coin ticket machine. I buy a ticket for Bin as his card isn’t Contactless. He gives me the cash.

We get off at the right station and my phone battery is dying. Turns out my power-bank is also dead. Bin lets me borrow his.

We catch our first glimpse of the TV tower. And the babies!

I wanted to visit the tower, but now see the price. Bin wants to go up. I would have rather spent the money on paddle boarding or something else. I decide to go along with it.

Views of the city are good, but that’s literally it.

The toilet is even an additional 15 CZK15 CZK, so no toilet for me.

Walk back towards the city. Still charging my phone.

We each head back to our hostels. I need to print my boarding pass for my flight and get my laundry still.

I catch a tram back, they are super good here.

The girls from the CS hangout invite me to one of their houses for dinner and drinks. How good is that! Sure beats just hanging around at the airport waiting for a 6:30am flight.

I collect my dry laundry, say thanks and head to the hostel.

No chance of a shower, but can use a toilet and collect my bags.

Repack my things, and print my Ryanair boarding pass.

I go into a small store near the tram stop to buy some drinks. I knock over a 6-pack of beer, and one bursts open! The shop is stacked precariously and I have two backpacks on. I put down my other bags and carefully remove some beers from the fridge, also stacked high.
148 CZK148 CZK for 4 big beers at 32 CZK32 CZK each and 20 CZK20 CZK for the burst one.

Catch the tram. I change a stop too early and have to walk 7min to catch the next one.

Finally I arrive. I have all my bags with me. They live on the top floor in a converted attic, but super nice.

I gift them my duvet set which was my mattress for Let It Roll. I also give them 2 cans of tuna, a can of baked beans, and an apple.

They couldn’t go paddle boarding after all, but have booked for 9am tomorrow.

We have a beer while cooking rice and a vegetable curry.

After dinner we eat grapes, that I brought also, and some chips.

Drink beer. Play cards. Drink wine. Drink liqueur. Drink Lithuanian mead.

More cards. Lols. They have more chips. We eat chips with hot sauce. They share their drinks and I share mine.

We run out of ice, so being the resourceful people we are, we use frozen broccoli. Check my Instagram highlights for more.

We play Durak! A Russian card game. I love cards. We play cards and drink until it’s 4am and probably time to head to the airport.

I trust Google Maps with its suggestions to get to the airport, mainly just to spite the hostel guy who said it’s better to go a certain route.

Say goodnight and walk to the bus stop in the rain and thunderstorm. It’s eased a lot.

Walking to the bus stop is uphill, don’t want to miss it! Take the 910 bus.

Doze on the bus and wake to a loud thud. A girl has fainted. We wait 20 minutes for an ambulance. It’s 5:30am, my flight departs at 6:30am and I’m in a bus on the side of the road.

So when we arrive it’s straight through the turnstiles, passport check, and security. Final call is already showing on the screen.

Then wait in the waiting lounge. I haven’t slept and just want to get on the plane to crash out.

Bus to the plane. Plane is leaving a little late. But finally can close my eyes and sleep for the entire flight. Realise the next day that it was only an hour flight!
